UIC
has identified five key individuals with experience
in agriculture, environmental teaching, research,
business, and government programs that have agreed
to actively cooperate to develop this new business.
In addition to those staff listed, we have on
board, several key staff with over fifteen years of
soil testing experience that includes oversight of
sampling crews, field work activities, quality
assurance, analytical support and laboratory
management.
Mark Riess, President
Mark
has 18 years of experience in the environmental
sector, including Manager, Environmental Management
Systems, CH2M Hill Hanford Group and five years
experience as the Technical Group Manager for
Environmental/Waste Treatment Programs for the
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), which
is operated by the Battelle Memorial Institute.
Mark has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a
M.S. in Systems Management from the University of
Southern California and is a Certified Hazardous
Materials Manager. Mark coordinated research and
development efforts of UIC technologies within
PNNL's Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory.
Mark will lead our efforts within the environmental
sector and will assist with product development
efforts for our agricultural and home and garden
markets.
Ron
Johnson, Senior Vice President
Ron
has over 25 years of agricultural experience in
sales, marketing, and consulting as the President
and Board Chairman of R&A Plant/Soil Inc. in
Pasco, Washington. Ron has extensive experience in
sales management and coordination of product
application and testing. Ron will be responsible
for the direction of database development and
marketing efforts within the agricultural and home
and garden market sectors of UIC.
Alex
Buxbaum, Chief Financial Officer
Alex
will serve as the Secretary-Treasurer of UIC and
Chief Financial Officer of the Board of Directors.
Alex has over 22 years of agricultural experience
as the secretary-treasurer for R&A Plant/Soil
Inc., providing the administration of financial and
other business activities for the company. Alex
directs the micro algal mass culture, product
control, and retail distribution for R&A. He
will be responsible for the administration and
financial programs of UIC.
Dr.
Earl O. Skogley, Senior Technical
Advisor
Earl
is a Professor Emeritus at Montana State
University, following a career of more than 40
years of teaching and research. He holds B.S. and
M.S. degrees in Soil Science from North Dakota
State University, a Ph.D. in Soil Fertility and
Plant Nutrition from North Carolina State
University, and was a Post Doctoral Fellow at
Cornell University. He directed more than 35
graduate students during his career and many are
now successful soil scientists around the world. He
has written numerous research journal papers and
developed the resin capsule technology during his
tenure at Montana State University.
James
Larson, Operations Manager, Environmental
Division
Jim
is coordinating the sample analysis, including
Quality Assurance and Quality Control for UIC
database development and initial commercial
activities. Jim has a B.S. degree in Physical
Sciences from Washington State University and an
A.A.S. degree in Nuclear Technology from Columbia
Basin College. Jim has ten years of experience in
Environmental, Health, Safety, and Radiological
activities.
